Police have cracked down on suspected thieves and drug dealers in Hammersmith over the past week.
A pair of suspected thieves who tried to evade the police yesterday morning (July 9) were arrested after they were chased along the Thames Towpath by the owner of a car they had broken into moments before.
Officers raced to the scene after being alerted at around 9:10am to reports of the two suspects being chased.
They had a short struggle with the men who were then arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
The 18 and 16-year-old remain in custody pending further investigation.
In an unconnected incident last Thursday (July 3), officers executed a search warrant at Bridge Avenue, near Hammersmith Broadway after receiving a tip-off from the community.
Police gained entry to the property and discovered 60 wraps of class A drugs and two rocks believed to be crack cocaine.
Four people, aged 19, 43, 46 and 48 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.
They have all been bailed to a date in late August pending further investigation.
