A young woman has appeared in court charged with carrying out a string of distraction burglaries at the homes of elderly Feltham and Hounslow residents.

Following a lengthy investigation by Hounslow police and Feltham safer neighbourhood team, 20-year-old Maria Reid, from Sussex, appeared at Feltham Magistrates Court, on November 6, to be charged with six counts of burglary.

The alleged offences all took place between October, 2007, and July this year.

Ms Reid has been remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on December 6.
