I REFER Mr Robin Taylor's letter in the issue of August 1 and Cllr G Singh's in the issue of August 15.

Mr Taylor's letter smacks of vindictiveness against Cllr Singh while Cllr Singh's is detailed, factual and exposes Labour Councillors of Southall for their ineptness, ineffectiveness and double standards.

It will be interesting to read Labour's response, but it seems that when Cllr Singh says that every word of his leaflet is true and can be verified then it must be true unless proven otherwise.

Southall councillors have been demanding a car park and toilets on the Broadway for years and when the time came, the Labour councillors voted against the proposals.

It seems that Cllr G. Singh has been the only person who has been driving Southall's agenda forward.

I must mention here that at a public meeting held in 2007 at Hamborough Primary School - attended by only one of the 10 Labour councillors - Cllr G Singh secured a public commitment from the cabinet member for regeneration for a car park on the Broadway.

This is a measure of Cllr G Singh's commitment for Southall.

Therefore, people of Southall including the traders should lend him as much support as possible, rather than sticking to past practice supporting the Labour party.
