A new Tesco Express store is due to open its doors in Bedfont giving a boost to jobs in the community.

This will be the second opening for the supermarket chain on the Staines Road, within a period of 12 months, which has created 12 new jobs benefiting employment levels in the area.

Store manager, Ivan Boska and his team have filled all posts with staff living locally to help bring a community feel to the shop which stands on the former Budgens site.

Mr Boska who has worked at Tesco since 2002, said: “I was thrilled by the response we received to our recruitment drive.

"In this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create jobs for our local community and help get people back into work.

“I am really pleased with my new team and I’m looking forward to working with them.

"We are delighted to be opening a Tesco Express store on Staines Road, Bedfont and look forward to playing an active role in the local community.”

The store is expected to open before the end of the month.

It will operate seven days a week from 6am to 11pm.

A Tesco Express store was opened in May last year on the Staines Road in Feltham on the site of former troubled pub Crown and Sceptre.
