A park in Isleworth is to get a new playground, despite fears of subsidence proving unfounded.

The play area at Redlees Park, in Twickenham Road, has been closed for several weeks after being declared unsafe due to subsidence.

A survey has now shown there is no underlying subsidence problem, but a spokesman for Hounslow Council's parks contractor Carillion said the uneven surfaces and worn equipment still needed to be rectified.

He said funding had been secured for an entirely new play area at the site, rather than opting for a temporary fix.

It is not yet known when work will begin but the spokesman added that further details about the new play area would be published soon.
