Film and TV actors acted out students' scripts following a master class with an award-winning playwright.

Year 10 pupils at Woodbridge Park Education Service, in Wood Lane, Isleworth, teamed up with playwright Michael Bhim, to draft their own work over the last few weeks.

Their words were then brought to life on Friday, March 21 by a team of professional actors including Alex Austin, who has appeared on big screen comedy World's End, and Holi Dempsey, whose CV includes work on Doctor Who.

"The students were extremely engaged in drafting their own scripts and it was extremely thrilling for them to watch their own scripts performed by professional actors, with great results," said Lisa Proud, of Woodbridge Park.

The workshop was run by Synergy Theatre Project, which works with young people at the risk of offending, like those at the pupil referral unit.

Synergy member and writer Martin Askew, who has worked with Guy Ritchie on films including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, worked alongside Mr Bhim helping students sharpen up their scripts.

Pupils at Woodbridge Park are due to work with Synergy again later this year to produce short films about cyber-bullying.
