More than 250 pupils from Hatch End High School took part in Get Connected Day when representatives from various charities encouraged them to get involved with the voluntary sector.

Volunteers from Radio Northwick Park, the hospital station, recorded festive jingles with students, which have been played over Christmas.

Volunteers co-ordinator Jade Wight said: “The day was a real success and it was really encouraging to see the pupils’ enthusiasm and excitement for the work we do.”

Teams of students will select a charity to promote as part of a 10-week project and the winning team will secure a £3,000 donation for their charity.
