FANS of Strictly Come Dancing should foxtrot over to Wembley Central Square on November 20, to see two of the show's biggest stars make a very special appearance.
British Olympic athlete Jade Johnson and her TV show partner Ian Waite are switching on Wembley's Christmas lights at 5pm.
The duo have been invited to star in a free afternoon of festival entertainment, which will culminate when they flick the switch to light up Wembley High Street.
There will also be food stalls, street theatre with colourful
Christmas characters, stage entertainment, carols and goodies from town centre businesses. The fun lasts from 2pm to 5.30pm at the new square, off Wembley High Street.
Brent Council has funded the Christmas illuminations and entertainment and hopes it will attract more visitors.
Councillor Irwin Van Colle, responsible for environment, culture and planning, said: "We are delighted that Jade Johnson and Ian Waite are helping us usher in Christmas to Wembley.
"Jade, one of the UK's best athletes, is now also one of the UK's best-known dancers. Her visit also shows support for Brent's work around the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
"People don't have to go into central London to get into the Christmas spirit.
"Enjoy a fun, festive afternoon in Wembley and support local businesses at the same time." [25cf] For more information call 020 8937 5064 or visit www.brent.gov.uk.
