The street where the Duchess of Cambridge’s mother grew up is now a murder scene.

Clarence Street in Southall was cordoned off in the early hours of yesterday morning after a man in his 40s was found collapsed.

The injured man later died in hospital. Police have launched a murder investigation.

Three men are currently being held in custody after being arrested yesterday. None have as yet been charged.

A post-mortem examination on the deceased is being carried out today.

A resident on the street who calls himself Singhpong on Twitter tweeted; 'Forensics and police all over my road, was riot police too.'

Police were called at 11.49pm on Sunday January 4 to Clarence Street, to reports of an injured man who had collapsed in the street.

Clarence street is where Kate Middleton’s grandparents used to live with her mother Carole Middleton (nee Goldsmith) who used to attend what is now called Featherstone High School.

The man was taken to a west London hospital but was sadly pronounced dead at 1.10am on Monday, January 5.

Next of kin are aware but formal identification is yet to take place.

The three men aged 29, 26 and 20 were arrested on Monday, on suspicion of murder.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are currently investigating and enquires continue.
