THIS is a reply to the letters I have been reading in the Chronicle in the past weeks, deriding and downgrading Hounslow, which I found extreme-ly annoying and upsetting.

I love the M&S outlet, it's so different. The staff are always helpful and pleasant and the store has a welcoming atmosphere. If I want a 'proper' M&S, I have two on my doorstep - Kew and Richmond.

In regards to the state of Hounslow, it must be remembered it's still halfway to being renovated and enlarged, and I find the mixture of shops within the Treaty Centre and in the High Street sufficient and rewarding.

Granted, we do not have some high street names, but do we really need them?

The food stores are also sufficient for many needs ie Asda, M&S, Iceland, plus various stores and vegetable/fruit stalls, and if you really need a Tesco, take a short ride on a bus.
