UP TO 2,000 jobs are expected to be created after a third phase of Stockley Park was approved to be constructed.

Stockley Park is Europe's largest business park and houses global companies such as BP, Canon, and Apple, who all rely on its proximity to Heathrow Airport.

Stockley Park Phase 3, would be located on a 12,000 hectare site adjoining Ironbridge Road and Horton Road, Yiewsley.

The plans include, a 450 room hotel, 25,000 square metres of office space, a single storey car park for 1,140 vehicles, as well as cafés, restaurants, and even an art exhibition space.

The proposals, by the Stockley Park Consortium, submitted in September, were finally approved last week and are hoped to further boost the economy in Hillingdon, and West London and the UK as a whole.

James Rodger, head of planning and enforcement at Hillingdon Council said: "Hillingdon Council has approved outline planning permission for phase 3 of Stockley Park.

"The plans include new offices and a hotel which are expected to create significant benefits to the local area.

"The plans are expected to create up to 2,000 jobs as well as improve the local landscape along the Grand Union Canal.

"Council officers have worked with the developer to make sure that this development would maximise any potential environmental and employment gains that could be achieved on this site."

Stockley Park was first built 24 years ago and was opened by Prince Charles.
