Photographer Patrick Rowley grabbed this superb shot of a steam train at Ruislip station as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of London Underground.

The 'puffer' and a diesel cousin were offering rides between Uxbridge and Harrow on the Hill on Sunday.

Compare his shot to the London Transport Museum picture of a decorated steam train coming through Ruislip in 1904, the first to make the run to Uxbridge.

Taken from the exact same spot, even the man standing on the left is echoed in the modern shot.
