A SCREENING of the new Star Trek film helped to raise £1,500 for Michael Sobell House hospice.
The movie was shown at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield.
Film fans were treated to a taste of Hollywood glamour, with a black tie dress code and a champagne and a canapé reception.
The screening raised funds for the hospice and palliative care centre, at Mount Vernon Hospital, in Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
The event was organised by Nick Reay, of the Round Table Lodge of Middlesex, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the lodge's consecration.
"It was a wonderful night, which was greatly enjoyed by everyone," he said. "We are delighted to be able to support Michael Sobell House."
Trustee Diana Walker gratefully received the donation from the Round Table in the grounds of the hospice, which provides palliative care for terminally ill patients.
