A STALWART of the community has been nominated by four neighbours for tirelessly working to improve their surroundings.

Mo Bennadi, of Langdale Gardens, Perivale, runs the local Neighbourhood Watch and liaises with the local police and has been praised for uniting his community and making it a safer place.

Mohammed Ilyas Razzaq echoed neighbours’ views when he said: “Mo has worked tirelessly and unselfishly for the local community for many years now.

“He has, amongst other things, set up and taken responsibility for the local Neighbourhood Watch, organised and regularly sends emails to the residents informing them of everything from burglaries to government proposals, visits and gives reassurances to residents (he has personally visited my mother’s home when she has been burgled).

“I am proud to call me him my neighbour, friend and brother.”

The 42-year-old father of three said he became involved with Neighbourhood Watch and the Perivale Safer Neighbourhood Team to make the area safer.

He said: “We petitioned to get a slip road down Rydal Crescent because cars coming off the A40 were landing in people’s drives.

“We are still fighting to get a camera on that road because there are a lot of burglaries.

“Perivale is the unwanted child of Ealing. If people don’t speak out, nothing gets done.”

He said of his nomination: “It’s nice to be appreciated.”
