A teenager is recovering in hospital after being violently attacked outside the Etap hotel in Staines Road with a baseball bat on Sunday evening.

The 19-year-old and his 17-year-old pal were targeted outside the Etap hotel, in Staines Road, in Hounslow, at around 7.15pm.

A confrontation took place after the victim and his friend were approached by two white males. It is not known how this started but one of the victims was attacked, kicked and punched and sustained head injuries which required treatment at West Middlesex Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The second victim was punched and sustained minor injuries.

Det Insp Jeff Minns, of Hounslow CID, said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward in connection with this assault. The main victim is now stable and will make a full recovery, nevertheless, it could have been much worse.

"Targeting and reducing violent crime is a priority for Hounslow police, we are determined to stamp out this type of behaviour."

Both suspects are white and aged between 20 and 25.

One was 6ft 3in, medium build, with long, flicked out brown hair long and wore blue jeans and a pale striped top. The other was 5ft 5in,  with dark brown hair short, wearing a black jacket, black jogging bottoms and carried a black baseball bat.
