Following suggestions from last year's walkers, St Luke's Hospice has decided that this year's Midnight Walk will have a slight difference - all participants will now have to complete the walk on segways.

The walk is certainly no easy challenge, so organisers at St Luke's felt that adding segways to the challenge made it easier and faster too.

Robin Webb, Chief Executive Officer for St Luke's said: “Our Midnight Walkers were finding that not only was the nine-mile trek at night tiring, but they were also running down their pink trainers.

“We decided that the solution was to introduce segways”

The walk, or ride in this case, takes place on Friday June 26.

Entry is £20 if you book your place before May 31 or £25 thereafter. The entry fee includes a Midnight Walk t-shirt, entertainment, refreshments, a midnight snack and a goody bag upon completion.

Last year's walk sold out all 1,500 places before the event, so make sure to book your place as soon as possible!

Darren Harman, centre manager at St Georges, said: “We are delighted to be providing the segways for this year's walk, imagine the fun the 1,500 ladies will have when they take on their night time sponsored walk on segways and it's all for a great local cause!”
