Fans at a Queens of the Stone Age concert were victims of theft in Wembley while they were ‘moshing’.

On Friday 22 November 2013 the popular American band played at Wembley Arena in Engineers Way.

While 11,000 people enjoyed the concert some reported that their mobile phones had been stolen to police.

Officers from Brent police were able to track the phones using the Find my iPhone app and recovered 44 stolen phones and stopped three men.

The police are continuing to identify the owners and restore the phones to them.

Two 27 year-old men and a 29 year-old woman were arrested for conspiracy to steal and bailed to a North London Police station in January 2014.

A stun gun was later seized at a home address following a search.

Inspector Paul Cook said “Unfortunately organised crime groups are targeting some bands and venues. The victims are often having phones stolen whilst they are in the standing area of venues, particularly around the ‘mosh pit’. This was a fantastic result with three suspects arrested, a weapon recovered and 44 phones recovered. We can now make enquiries to restore these to their owners. I would like to highlight the benefits of registering your phone and other valuables on the website, www.immobilise.com. This assists police identify stolen property and return it to their owner”.
