Complaints made by a number of primary school staff have been the subject of an investigation by governors of the school.

Staff at North Primary School, Meadow Road, Southall, have been involved in an independent investigation by the governing body of the school after making complaints.

The governors have completed their investigation and are now working with Ealing Council and members of staff to resolve the issue.

The Chair of Governors' Colm Costello however, has assured the Gazette that it is 'business as usual' at the school.

Mr Costello said: "We have completed an independent investigation, but we are not at the end of this process. We need to hammer out a recommendation and we will be working with the council, staff and the National Union for Teachers to find a way forward whilst we ensure the school continues to run as normal. In the meantime it is business as usual. This investigation in no way affects the daily running of the school. At this early stage we cannot comment any further as we have to be respectful to the complainants and all parties involved."

A council spokesperson said: “Our priority is to ensure that the pupils at the school continue to receive a good education and that the day to day running of the school is unaffected. The school’s governing body has carried out an independent investigation into complaints from some staff at North Primary and the council is supporting the school in implementing recommendations from the investigator’s report.”

Assistant Secretary for the Ealing branch Nick Grant said: "We will be making no comment until we have been appraised of the outcome of the investigation."

North Primary School is rated as outstanding by Ofsted.
