A HOSPICE in Southall has received a donation from a new Tesco which opened in the area.

Meadow House received £500 from the store, which recently opened an outlet of its Express stores in King Street.

Lynne May, vountary services manager was guest of honour at the opening, cutting the ribbon and declaring the new store officially open.

As part of the opening celebrations, store manager Sahil Ralhan and his team presented her with a cheque for £500.

She said: “We would like to thank Tesco for this generous donation. The £500 donation will go towards purchasing additional medical equipment, particularly syringe drivers, arts and craft equipment for our day unit patients, and for the upkeep of the garden and other areas used by the patients and their families and carers.”

Mr Ralhan said: “We were delighted to be able to support the Meadow House Hospice as it does such fantastic work for those living in the Southall community. We are so pleased that Lynne came to open the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”
