A LAW firm in Southall is reaching out with free sessions after Government cuts forced a legal advice group in the borough to close down.

Staff at Jung and Co Solicitors, which has practiced in Southall for 15 years, will be lending a helping hand to people who were affected by the closure of the Law For All service in Ealing last year.

Viney Jung, who leads the firm, said: “Law For All shut down and since it has, we have found that there is a real problem for people who are seeking free legal advice, particularly in Southall,

“Although we already do a lot of pro bono work my firm has decided, after several months of discussion, to start running a free advice session every Monday.

“Law For All was a very big provider of free advice and many people depended on it, especially people who were over 65 and had language difficulties. This is something that we really want to do.”

The sessions are held at 41 North Road, Southall UB1 2JL every Monday from 5pm to 7pm. The firm can be reached on 020 8813 8996 but no appointments are needed so people can just turn up.

People will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis and there will also be staff who can speak Punjabi and Hindi. Sessions are limited to 15 minutes per person.
