I WAS interested to read Neil Sherry's letter about Councillor Mike Cox (Pointlessness of this party,Letters, July 16).

I imagine that Mr Sherry spends a lot of his time attending to the needs of the dead in the area - however,Mr Cox is concerned about the needs of the living, and if you write to him about a local issue he will answer your letter, quite unlike Councillor [Douglas] Mills.

I am awaiting an answer to a letter I sent him on March 18 - in fact, I quite thought he had joined the ranks of Mr Sherry's clients.

Maybe our 'main party' council-lors could take a lead from Mr Cox.
