FOR how much longer must we endure the unsightly mess of bags of rubbish which have been deposited in the streets, especially at the side of trees? What exactly is it about the poor trees which attract rubbish?

I am particularly referring to the streets in St Mark's Road, Ladbroke Grove station, but also Dalgarno Way - this area has been a favourite dumping ground for years.

Some trees are being pruned at the moment but has anyone given thought to removing these bags containing the residue of dismembered branches?

This can only encourage vermin in the shape of rats and mice. I have been in constant touch with our representatives on this matter, ie local councillors etc, but success in dealing with this appears to be some way off.

We already have a dog fouling problem which shows little sign of abatement. With unemployment threatening three million and maybe more, can we not attract staff to deal with this work?
