The Maida Vale Studios - which have hosted sessions by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie - celebrates its 75th anniversary this month.

On October 30, Snow Patrol will play some of the most famous songs recorded at the studios.

Formerly a skating rink, the building was refurbished in 1934 for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Singers.

During the Second World War, news was broadcast from the studios, and hundreds of musicians have since performed there.
