It was almost tutu much for an Isleworth schoolboy as he appeared in a special performance of Billy Elliot the Musical, broadcast to cinemas worldwide.

Liam Sargeant, six, plays 'Small Boy' in the stage version of the hit film at Victoria Palace Theatre, where it has been running since 2005.

He took to the stage on September 28 for a live broadcast, which ended with 25 Billies past and present uniting on stage for the finale.

As well as being beamed live to cinemas in the UK and across the globe, a recording will be released as a DVD in time for Christmas.

As soon as the performance was over, Liam, who attends the Isleworth branch of drama school Stagecoach, made the short dash to Leicester Square to watch himself on the big screen. He was back at the cinema the following week for another screening of the show.

Liam, who attends St Mary's RC Primary School, in Isleworth, said he loved meeting all the actors who had played Billy over the years.

The youngster, whose impressive CV already includes appearances in Law and Order and various commercials, insisted he was not overawed by the occasion.

But it appears the musical, in which he will appear until May, has not fuelled a love of ballet, as Liam said his favourite scenes were the boxing ones.
