Reader Richard Sneddon sent us these amazing pictures of clouds.

Richard, of Ickenham, was out for a stroll on Wednesday night (June 25) in South Ruislip when he saw the wonderful, colourful formations criss-crossing the sky.

The chauffeur company dispatcher, 29, is expecting a baby with his partner, Chloe, so went to get a decent camera a while back. We think it paid off.

“I wanted to master the art of capturing a moment rather than just a picture ready for the arrival of our son,” said Richard.

So what makes clouds do this? Streaks and strands of fluffy vapour shot through with the colours of the rainbow against a deep blue sky make for a celestial show of amazing beauty.
