The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed to getwestlondon.co.uk that it will not intervene in the matter of Peter Lang, principal of Uxbridge High School.

On Tuesday, July 8, the school in The Greenway, Uxbridge, issued a brief statement.

“We can confirm that the principal and a vice-principal of Uxbridge High School have taken a voluntary leave of absence."

As an academy it operates independently of Hillingdon Council, and answers directly to the DfE.

But this afternoon (Wednesday, July 16), the DfE confirmed it would not be getting involved. "We regard it as a staffing issue and a matter for the school," said a spokesman.
