MOTOR Racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart was admitted to Hillingdon Hospital after falling ill on a flight to Heathrow.

71-year-old Stewart was kept in overnight after collapsing with chest pains on a flight to Heathrow Terminal 5 from Geneva, where he had been attending a motor show.

The three times Formula One champion made a full recovery and was released the following day. It is not the first time the rich and famous have been admitted to Hillingdon Hospital, Heathrow's closest airport.

Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was rushed to the hospital in November 2008 after becoming ill on a transatlantic flight.
