Singers and musicians are being given the chance to take to the stage at Hounslow's Treaty Centre this Christmas.

Bosses of the shopping complex in Hounslow High Street have invited local schools, charities and community groups to apply to entertain shoppers this November and December with carols and festive tunes. Charities can use the performance to raise money.

Treaty Centre manager Janet Leatherland said: "We like to think Treaty sits at the heart of the community so we would like to reflect this by putting on a programme of Christmas music to entertain our shoppers.

"We want to offer local choirs, bands, schools or even dance groups a spotlight to perform live at the Centre over the next few weeks."

Live music, dance and an appearance by Disney characters including Mickey Mouse at the Treaty Centre on Saturday helped raise £610 to combat cancer.
