Shoppers have helped the community by donating their bonus payments to a good causes fund.

Co-operative members in North London assisted Harlesden Money Advice Service, Scrubs Lane, Harlesden, with its annual running costs with a grant of £2,000.

The group received the money from The Co-operative Membership Community Fund, money accumulated by member customers donating all or part of their annual dividend payment.

Harlesden Money Advice spokeswoman Gemma Pearson said: “Funding is becoming ever harder to secure, therefore we were delighted to hear that we were successful in securing this grant from The Co-operative.

“The cash has made a huge difference to our group and it means all the more knowing the money has been donated by local people.”

Harlesden Money Advice provides free and impartial money advice to people who want to resolve their financial problems.
