After numerous neighbours complained about the bad behaviour around a shisha bar, Brent Police have closed the premises down temporarily.

On Wednesday October 22 the Cleopatra Lounge in Harlesden High Street, Harlesden was served with a closure order of three months after numerous complaints came in about anti social behaviour around the bar.

It will reopen on January 9 next year and has been closed because over a period of several months complaints came in about violent disorder, fighting, shouting, noise, large disturbances and drug dealing around the premises.

Chief Inspector, Nick Davies said: "Brent Police received many complaints from local people regarding Anti Social Behaviour around Cleopatras. We will always work together with our communities to address things that concern local people. We have, as a partnership, made this application to bring to an end the disorder we were regularly seeing around these premises."

Lead member for stronger communities at Brent Council, Councillor James Denselow said: “Brent Police have listened to local residents by shutting down Cleopatra Lounge for three months.

"This sends a strong message to the owners that we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour. I hope the owners take heed of this and ensure that this type of behaviour does not recur in the future. We want to create a safe borough for our residents and visitors and we will work with our Partners to achieve this.”

Also in October, the Fayrouz Lounge in Wembley were fined for allowing smoking in the premises.
