CONTROLLED drinking zones are a stupid waste of time.

There are far too many signs on the road but these controlled drink zones have no legal basis. It is not illegal to drink alcohol in public and I shall continue to do so in a reasonable manner in moderation.

The police have stopped me twice in Roe Green Park,NW9; each time filling in a very long form.

In the last week, two more shops have opened selling alcohol; some are open 24 hours. Strong lager is the same price it was in 1992, 16 years ago: 99p a can in 1992 and £1 now.

Alcohol is very, very cheap and is available in more and more shops.

I buy two cans and a newspaper and sit in a park and do not cause a problem reading my paper.

Since drinking alcohol in public is legal I will continue to do so, and nobody will stop me.You hardly ever see police anyway.

Also, signs tell you not to drop litter and feed the birds. Result? People drop litter and feed the birds!

Don't the council have better things to spend money on?

Pavements in NW9 need repair, parks need more benches.
