A Polish woman forced into prostitution was today rescued by police from a property in Hounslow.

Officers this morning (Friday, February 21) swooped on the address in Bath Road, freeing the woman, who was being held against her will.

They arrested two women, both of whom have been charged with trafficking and prostitution offences, and two men, who are still being questioned.

Sonia Goman, 33, and Anna Graj, 30, both of Bath Road, were charged with conspiracy to traffic into the UK for sexual exploitation and conspiracy to control prostitution.

The men, aged 44 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of the same offences. The former has been bailed pending further enquiries, and the latter remains in custody at a north London police station.

Officers forced their way into the property as part of a joint operation, involving Polish Police, the National Crime Agency and the Met's kidnap and human trafficking unit.

A police spokesman said the rescued woman was being cared for and receiving help and support.

Detective Sergeant Alan Clark said: "No one should be able to control another person and exploit them for personal gain. This case highlights that the MPS will work quickly and decisively to investigate any accusations of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

"The safe rescue of this woman is largely down to the good partnership links established between our unit, the NCA and Polish authorities."

Victims of trafficking are urged to call the MPS free 24-hour helpline on 0800 783 2589.
