Seven men, including three from the borough of Hounslow, have been charged with affray following a fight which broke out after Brentford FC's loss at Watford last September.

Police arrested eight men after violence broke out in The Parade, in Watford High Street, on September 30, following the Bees' 2-1 defeat to their promotion rivals.

Seven of those were charged on Saturday (January 17) and Sunday, after returning on police bail. An eighth man was released with no further action taken.

The seven defendants, all of whom are due to appear at St Albans Magistrates' Court on February 13, are:

Darren Hartland, 24, of Langley Road, Watford

Andrew Noonan, 26, of Little Bushey Lane, Bushey

Harry Mansbridge, 19, of First Avenue, Watford

Jude Brown, 20, of Summerlands, Acton

Gary Robinson, 50, of Central Avenue, Hounslow

Oliver Robinson, 18, of Central Avenue, Hounslow

A 17-year-old boy from Isleworth, who cannot be named for legal reasons

Superintendent Sue Jameson, who leads Hertfordshire Constabulary's response to football matches, said: "These charges are a continuation of our commitment to responding to football related violence.

"The fight occurred in front of people enjoying an evening out in the town, who genuinely feared for their safety.

"This is not the type of behaviour people should experience when they visit Watford and I hope this reassures the community that we will do all in our power to keep Watford a safe place."

Last Monday (January 12), 11 men were charged in connection with disorder before Watford FC hosted Bolton Wanderers on August 9 last year. They are awaiting trial.
