Police have cordoned off an area of Uxbridge town centre following what is believed to have been a serious assault.
The spot, at the top of Windsor Street between NatWest Bank and Harris and Hoole coffee shop, is closed off with plastic tape and officers – including forensics officers – are at the scene.
Access to the High Street and Uxbridge station appears to be restricted because of the closure of the one-way loop around the Market House.
The area is used as a drop-off point by commuters. It is not clear yet whether Windsor Street has been closed at the bottom to prevent drivers entering what will be a tricky bottleneck.
