A sweeping challenge to the [council] leader; some months ago a criminal act at the Swakeleys Road and Derwent Avenue bus stop left the pavement covered in shattered glass.

This pavement has been cleaned many times since but substantial amounts of broken glass linger to this day.

If Mr Puddifoot will meet me at this bus stop, bringing with him a dust-pan, bucket and brush, I will show him how to clean it.

And within a few minutes will not leave a fragment of glass behind.

In the meantime, could he please remain silent on the subject of value for money street cleaning. It is yet another subject on which it seems he 'does not give a monkeys'.

GAVIN WADDELL,

Greenacres Avenue, Ickenham.
