A second person has been charged with rape over an alleged serious sex attack on a schoolgirl in a Harrow park.
Detectives from Harrow Police's specialist sex crime squad, known as the Sapphire Unit, believed the 14-year-old victim was acosted in The Grove Open Space, in Lowlands Road, Harrow, on the afternoon of September 3.
Jeton Jashari, an 18-year-old Kosovan from Toorack Road, Wealdstone, appeared at Harrow Magistrates' Court this morning (Thursday) to answer charges of rape and theft of a mobile phone. He was remanded back in custody, having been arrested yesterday at home.
Another defendant, Binak Hasa, 18, of Salmon Street, Kingsbury, appeared at the same court on September 10 charged with rape and was remanded back into custody until November 12.
Hasa was arrested along with a 14-year-old boy in Harrow town centre on September 9. The 14-year-old, who cannot be named, was subsequently bailed by police pending further enquiries.
The park in which the attack is said to have happened lies opposite Harrow College, leads to St Mary's Church, in Church Hill in Harrow on the Hill, and is often used as a shortcut for people walking to the station.
