MY NAME is Mike Kleinlugtebeld. I am 39 and live in a town called Zwolle, which is in the county of Overjissel in the east of the Netherlands.

I am researching the war in the air in and around my home town during the Second World War.

My main goal is to tell the story about all the men who died and served for our freedom. I want to make sure their sacrifices will not be forgotten.

One day I hope to write a book about all those brave men. I think it is important that my generation and future generations will be able to read about these men. To tell the story of the men it is important to me that I manage to find photos and other information about them.

One of those airmen was Sergeant Bernard Stearman Nixon. He came from Feltham and was the husband of SE Nixon.

Sgt Nixon was killed when his plane was shot down on December 23, 1942, near my home town. He is buried, together with five crewmates, in a cemetery in Ijhorst, not far from my home.

I hope to find out more about Sgt Nixon and to find a photo of him so I am trying to track down relatives.

Any help would be very much appreciated and would help me in my goal to keep the memory alive of a brave young man from Feltham who gave his life in my country for our freedom.
