A couple who first met when he was a young Scout and she a young Guide in Harrow have tied the knot.

Sheetel Rajani and Nick Cartwright, who were both pupils at Rooks Heath College for Business and Enterprise,in Eastcote Lane,got married at Hillingdon Register Office,in High Street, Uxbridge, on July 5.

The 30-year-old groom and his new wife met at a Scout and Guide camp in Austria in 1992 after travelling there as part of the Scouts and Guides group from South Harrow Methodist Church, in Walton Avenue.

The couple,who now live in Ickenham, both grew up in Harrow and were residents of the borough for about 25 years. The new Mrs Cartwright is still a Guide leader at the 7th Roxeth Guide Group, and the girls provided a guard of honour at the ceremony.

Julie Cartwright, the groom's mother,said: "It was a lovely day.We were relieved it didn't rain.

"The couple have more of a connection to Harrow,much more so than where they are living now."

The bride was given away by her brother Kishan Rajani and the best man was the groom's friend Jon Tydda. The two bridesmaids on the day were Priti Varney and Vruti Dattani and more than 150 guests attended the reception at Venue 5, in Eastcote.The happy couple are now on honeymoon in The Maldives.
