A SHRINE set up to honour a man stabbed in Greenford was destroyed over the weekend.

Ian Newtion (45), better known as Scoobie Santino, was stabbed in the neck on March 22 in the underpass underneath Greenford Roundabout. His killer remains at large.

His family had set up a shrine at the site including candles, poems, prayers, flowers and pictures, but it was set alight before being discovered by Greenford woman Diana Jordan.

Mrs Jordan, who is petitioning for improved safety at the underpass said: "I have informed the family and they are devastated. It's bad enough to lose a member of your family. They don't need this.

"Why was this done? That underpass is a disgrace. We need something done quick."
