Hounslow has been given the go-ahead to start its Building Schools for the Future scheme years early.
Eight projects nationwide have been picked to be fast tracked and will be allowed to rebuild or remodel five secondary schools that need cash first.
Officers had to apply to the governent for the head start and prove they could support the schemes finacially and that plans were ready to launch.
Hounslow is expected to start work this summer.
