SOUTHALL charity worker Darshan Singh Bhinder can add another accolade to his list in the shape of a School Governor Of The Year Award from Ealing Council.
Mr Bhinder, 70, is on the board of Governors at St Ann's School in Hanwell, which provides for children with special needs.
He said: "I'm very pleased to get the award. I have been Governor at the school since 2003 so it's a pleasure to receive this."
Mr Bhinder does continual charity work in the area, and organises regular events at St Ann's including musical activities and providing the school with free ice cream.
His now grown-up daughter Balwinder, 25, attended the school from 2002 until 2004.
Mr Bhinder has already been awarded a World Ambassador for Peace title by the Universal Peace Federation in 2008 for helping to raise more than £30,000 for good causes.
