Re: State School 'Fees' Furore (Chronicle, October 30).
As a Voluntary Aided Church school, The Green School has to raise a certain percentage of its maintenance costs by methods such as PTA fundraising and it is also common to ask for voluntary parental contributions.
However, these voluntary contributions vary considerably from school to school, as does the pressure put upon parents to set up direct debits.
It may interest the parents of Green School girls to know that the suggested voluntary contribution for parents of girls at Gumley House Convent School, also in Isleworth, is £30 per month, twice that of The Green School.
