ONE hundred Santas braved the icy cold in a dash to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice.

For the annual MSH Santa Dash, 112 runners dressed in Santa and reindeer outfits to run along Green Lane to Michael Sobell Hospice, in Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood.

Trish Mule, a fundraiser at MSH said: “It went really well. It was bitterly cold, but we had slightly more dashers this year and really lots of children joined in and everybody seemed to have such an amazing day.

"Jimmy the Bear from the Windmill Studio Centre, in Ruislip Manor, was there, and the Grymsdyke Brass Band had everyone singing.

“Christopher Biggins was lovely, absolutely brilliant. He did spend time with everyone.”

The television and panto star startedthe race, now in its third year, outside Northood Methodist Church, in Oaklands Gate. Trish, who is still totting up the total from the day, hopes the fundraiser will at least match last year’s, and rase more than £7,000 for the hospice.
