Pupils at a weekend school hosted their own version of Britain's Got Talent.

The Sai School of Harrow,a free weekend school based at Stanburn School, in Abercorn Road, had break-dancing, singing and musical performances at the event.

The talent show, which took place at Hatch End High School, in Headstone Lane, was attended by parents and pupils.

Ranu Mehta-Radia, founder of the Sai School, said: "It was wonderful to see different kids' talents. We had a very lively crowd.

"We were surprised at the pupils because we do not usually see them in that context."

The event was the idea of Year 9 pupils who wanted to raise money for the upkeep of the school.

The young people held Sai School's Got Talent auditions before the competition and formed a committee to organise the event.

Eighteen young people gave performances ranging from Indian dancing and martial arts displays to Western folk dances before three judges. There was even a Michael Jackson lookalike.

The winners of the junior category of the event were 10-year-old Karishma Raichada and six-year-old Kareena Raichada, who wowed the judges with their Indian dances. Meanwhile the winner of the senior category was Ravi Bagia, 11, with his breakdance routine. The show raised £500, which will go towards the running of the school.
