REGARDING recycling, we have a side entrance which is highly visible and bordering the road which my neighbour and I share and where our bins are kept. Unless we move them on to the pavement they do not get emptied because the bin man will not walk a few paces to get them. Is it a new ruling that all bins must be on the pavement?

Regarding fly-tipping, a friend on her own and aged 60 rang the council to have a three-piece suite collected. She was told to bring it through the front garden, through the gate and leave it by the curb for collection. She would have to pay £40 first. Other councils who do not charge do not suffer from fly-tipping.
