Children used their creative talents to turn rubbish into art as part of an environmental awareness week.
Staff and pupils at Newnham Junior School in Newnham Avenue, Eastcote, took part in the activities and workshops last week focusing on the 'three rs' - recycle, reuse and reduce.
Children, parents and others in the community gave their rubbish to the school for pupils to turn into art works and displays.
Children made photo frames, chairs, waste paper bins and shelters out of recycled newspaper.
Children in Year 5 and 6 made wallets and purses out of used plastic carrier bags, and Year 3 and 4 pupils made a giant phoenix with litter collected at the Eastcote and East Ruislip Streets Ahead community clean up held in September.
