FIRE ripped through an industrial estate in Hayes damaging four buildings.
The emergency services were called to the scene at 5.20pm after a blaze broke out at the back of one of the buildings at The Argent Centre, in Silverdale Road.
Twelve fire engines and more than 60 firefighters tackled the blaze, which left 40 per cent damage to the four industrial units.
Firefighters had to break into Unit six, housing Zumtobel Staff Lighting, to spray down some propane canisters to stop them from overheating, and to drive out an articulated lorry that was smoking.
Units four and five, Zumtobel Staff Lighting, were saved, but 50 per cent of Unit six was damaged and Unit seven, Global Options Management Services Ltd, was completely destroyed.
Silverdale Road was closed and had reopened by 5pm on Monday. Pump Lane was also closed and reopened at 2am on Monday.
It is believed the fire may have started in a rubbish bin behind one of the buildings, but the investigation still continues.
The Gazette could not get hold of Zumtobel Staff Lighting for a comment and Global Options Management Services Ltd refused to comment about the fire.
