When pupils at Kingsbury High School were given the opportunity to put together a roller disco in aid of charity, the Year 9 team couldn't wait to get involved.

The roller disco, held on Thursday last week, saw the company Rollback Skating provide the equipment, and the Year 9 team organising the event, selling tickets and arranging refreshments.

They raised more than £450, with all of the proceeds going to Amnesty International, which helps protect the human rights of people around the world.

Jo Robinson, press officer at the school, said: "The gains that the students received almost outweighed the money raised, being in a different environment and helping to organise the event really helped to increase their confidence."
