AUSTRALIA'S most famous export Rolf Harris pulled in the crowds when he dropped by the Lemongrove Gallery in Chiswick High Road at the weekend.

The 81-year-old singer-turned-presenter-turned-artist visited on Sunday to dislay his latest art collection, as part of a country-wide tour.

Speaking out about his excitement of touring he said: "I always love getting out and meeting people, especially when they tell me stories of meeting me before or memories they have of me when I was doing different things."

He took time out from talking about his work to sign autographs and chat with guests and there was a surprise in store for as, Rhodri Williams of Chiswick, an old friend and colleague from Animal Hospital, a pet TV show, showed up to visit him.

The pair hugged and sang Welsh songs.

The one time Animal Hospital presenter said his new work was eclectic and varied from scenes of an ice landscape to portraits of people he saw out walking.

Referred to by the BBC as best-loved artists and entertainers as one of Britain's best–loved artist, Mr Harris said he paints most of his works from photographs of scenes he has taken.

He said: "I would like to paint en plein air , so just set my easel up in a park, but people always come up to me and chat so I lose concentration."

He added: "I'm touring all over the country with my new work, but it's nice to be going to Chiswick which is lovely."
