A robber who punched his teenage neighbour in the face before stealing his computer and games console has been jailed for five years.
Ivan Ernesta, of Crane Avenue, Isleworth, and another man forced their way into the 17-year-old victim's home on July 8 last year. Once inside, Ernesta assaulted him an stole a laptop and Xbox console.
Ernesta was convicted of robbery on January 20 after a two-week trial at Kingston Crown Court, and he was sentened to five years in prison on Monday this week (February 17).
The court heard how the victim was on his doorstep when he saw Ernesta and the other man. He tried to speak to them from the doorstep but they forced their way in.
Police were called and Ernesta was subsequently arrested, though detectives are still trying to trace the other man.
Ernesta had admitted to police attending his neighbour's home but claimed he was invited in during a heated discussion over a debt.
Detective Constable Dan Whitehead, of Hounslow CID, said: "This was a traumatic robbery and I must thank the victim for his courage in giving evidence.
"This was a violent, pre-meditated crime inside the victim's own home and such criminals will always be rigorously pursued."
